Hawthorne Animal Hospital Angel Fund

Supporting K9 Officers, Protecting Wildlife

We love our community, especially the furry neighbors! That’s why we started the Hawthorne Animal Hospital Angel Fund. Every financial donation made by our supporters to our 501(c)3 is matched dollar-for-dollar by our vet clinic, helping us improve the quality of life for animals across the Metro East.

Through the Angel Fund, our Glen Carbon pet clinic has the privilege of working with several police departments in Madison, Montgomery, and Macoupin Counties by providing cradle-to-grave veterinary care to their K-9 officers. Each of these heroes receives free vaccinations, emergency care, monthly flea and heartworm prevention, and prescription food. The K-9 officers we currently work with include Griff and Wrath from Glen Carbon PD, Moose and Riot from Pontoon Beach PD, Mac from Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department, Clark from Alton PD, Wookie from Litchfield PD, Kimber, Jada, and Shaft from Madison County Sheriff’s Department, and Odin from Collinsville PD.

In addition to caring for the K9 officers, the Angel Fund also helps in the recovery of injured wildlife that are brought to our emergency vet clinic by Treehouse Wildlife Center, a non-profit rescue and rehab center in Dow, IL. So far, Dr. Myer has performed life-saving treatments for a number of wildlife creatures, including eagles, owls, coyotes, and fawns.
Join us in helping animals in our region live their best lives possible. Make your tax-deductible donation online or visit our Facebook page for our upcoming fundraisers.
